Using the Apple Health App to keep you safe

Apple is constantly releasing new updates that make our lives easier. With a recent update, and the introduction of the Health App, you can now use you iPhone as an emergency contact card–even when it’s locked. To enable this feature, follow these steps:

1. Open the “Health” App; it should already be on your phone

2. Touch the “Medical ID” asterisk on the bottom right corner

2. Touch “Create Medical ID”

3. Fill out as much of the information as you can

5. Touch “Done” in the top right corner.

To see what this looks like follow these steps:

1. From the lock screen swipe right to get to the passcode page

2. Touch “Emergency” on the bottom left

3. From the new white screen, touch “*Medical ID” on the bottom left (in red)

You can edit this information at any time by following steps 1-2 from above, this will take you to the same page so you can edit.

We encourage you to take a minute to do this, as it could be very helpful in an emergency, especially if you have specific medical needs.
